Description:
Often time student are not able to communicating clearly what they would like to say.
It is purpose of this lesson to help student understand to need to be articulate and precise when explain steps to another student. In addition the student listening will learn to be a more affective listener.


Goal:

Students will understand to need to be articulate when communicating
 

Objectives:
1. the student will use descriptive eplications to guide another student in completing the task.
2. The student will explain the importance of being articulate and the frustration when directions are unclear.


Background Information:
• This activity will teach student to explain what they see and guide another student in reproducing the drawing by what they are told
Concepts: Student will able to:
1. Explain and articulate the steps to reproducing a drawing
2. Follow directions as closely as possible
3. Communicate with follow students to accomplish the given task

Reading (Analyze Character, Setting, and etc)


Explain Review the terms character, setting, and plot. Write the following passage on the board.Read the paragraph aloud with students. Tell them that they will identify the characters and the setting in this passage. Students should think about the beginning, middle, and end of the passage to describe how the characters and the setting help to move the plot along.
Guided Practice
Ask: Who is this story about?
Where and when does the story happen?
 What happens in the story?
Help students identify clues as necessary.
Practice  :

Draw a diagram with three circles on the board and label the circles Beginning, Middle, and End. Reread the passage with students. In the circles have students list the events that form the plot development. Then have them use the diagram to retell the story.

Writing Autobiography


Set up your high school students for writing success at the beginning of a new school year by providing a variety of writing assignments that focus on their expertise — being a teenager! The simple pre-writing activity in this unit will help you and your students learn more about each other while creating classroom pride and a feeling of belonging at the beginning of the year. This is also a perfect time to introduce autobiographies.

1.   Students will write a productive autobiography through prewriting activities.
